Re: AFR meter

Thanks. I think it can help me find the sweet spot. I'm not teaching anymore with the exception of maybe geezer drags :-)  So I want it a bit leaner for good mileage. If that works!? I'll have almost 5000 miles to test it and I will try the 750 and the 600. I don't think the 500 can be saved. I tried to rebuild it using two different 500's and a bunch of new posts but it's still messing up. I may do a bit more work on it and try it again.

I have Innovative also, a HP 830 Holley, I was running 13.5 to 12.3 on the track, 1/4 mile, went to Vegas, where there is air, was running fat to what I was running the the year before. The MPH, and ET was much better. Came home to Colorado, changed jets to a fatter set up I ran all last year, picked up MPH and ET. AFR is now a consistent 12.3 to 12.8, and on bad air days within a couple points. This is on 91 pump gas, I have read like you, that it should be leaner. Plugs are clean, burn ring looks great. If  I can help out some more let me know.  Rick

I just installed an Innovative MTX-L digital air/fuel ratio gauge on LeRoar. I'm wondering what ratio I should be shooting for. I have only had it running in the garage so far and it's a lean 12.9 with stock 750 Eddy. I'm thinking it should be in the 14.7 range.

Can some of you experienced guys chime in here?
