Re: Intake manifold



I really like those Thermoquads; have about ten of them from NOS, professionally rebuilt 340 TQ for 1972 car, remanufactured, rebuilt, good cores...ad infinitum.
 
Have been running the same 850cfm Thermoquad on my 340 Dart for over 20yrs....never adjust or tune it...just keeps running perfect; turns 12’s at the track easily with my 284 Purple Shaft.

Was on a low compression 440 with a mopar 312-590 cam. And a bad rod!!  Ran like a raped gorilla once it was wound up
But the noisy rod prevented much driving.  Ultimatly the engine came apart and no official time trials could be run.   Of course i should mention this setup was in a 73 Newport. Hahaha.   Big. Green.  Monster. With a kitty litter box. On the hood for a scoop.  The end was cut out to let air in.  We are crazy some times.   Ahhhhh. The good old days.

I like the Weiand with the two Thermoquads!!!  Classic...I wonder how it ran; any stories on that?
