Re: Kickdown Linkage Rubber Bushings

Since mechanical linkage is problematic after all these years; parts hard to find/expensive/don’t work consistently well...I would suggest that you look at purchasing Bouchillon or Lokar cable linkage for your trans and carb needs.

Subject: Kickdown Linkage Rubber Bushings

Does anyone know a source for the rubber bushings used on the 64 C-body kickdown linkage?
There are two on our Dodge 880. The bushings harden and elongate over time, putting a lot of slop into the operation.

They are held in place like a grommet, but don't appear to be the typical grommet shape or design.
I believe the ID where the rod goes in is 3/8, and the bushing/grommet itself pops into a 1/2 inch hole in the lever arm.

I called A&A Transmission, but they told me they only reproduce kickdown stuff for 68 and up, which apparently don't use these rubber parts.

See attached photo.
