Re: DOT street and strip tires

Thank you Rick for the great testimony to the M&H Racemasters.  I may give those a try after I run my BFG’s on the Plymouth with the Stroker Poly.

I would use the M/T ET Radial if used mostly on the street than strip, alot of people I see have them on who drive to the track. I had a set of the BFG radial drag tires, were fairly used, the car reacted good, automatic car, with them. Did some research, and decided to replace, worn out, with the M&H Racemaster radials.Coming home, half a block from the tire shop, did a dry burnout, like I had done before with the BFG's, found my weak link, twisted the Pinion gear, and shredded the ring gear. The 3rd. member was a 741 case with 3.91, Suregrip. That to me showed how much the "tackiness" of the tires differed. Now I'm running the same tires with a 489 member, and have had no problems with traction, wheel spin off the line is fixed with slight air pressure adjustment, going into 2nd. year with the tire's, with 45+ runs. That's what I've experienced.

Has anyone here tried the  "Nitto " brand tires ?  How you like them ?  Quality any good? ... These are somewhat lower priced than  the "name brand" ones.
I like that they  have a little more rain grooves in them.   I notice that some tires from Summit  say they are recommended for automatic transmission.  Guess they are trying to say they get too much traction  for a 4 speed driveline?.......................................MO
