The FiTech system looks really nice but the question I have with it and other systems is the fuel return line.--
The sump system with the sump under the hood sounds nice but it does take up space and will not look like it belongs in the engine compartment of my car. It also requires a vent line for venting and overflow in the event of a problem with the level control of the unit. From what I read they recommend running the vent back to the fuel tank fill pipe. It seems that if I should run a line back to the tank area why use the sump?
The second part is installing a high pressure fuel pump near or in the fuel tank. It seems an external pump would be the easiest but a return line still must be ran back to the tank. It seems that at additional cost it might be simple to get a new tank and install an in-tank fuel pump with a return connection.
I'm very interested hearing the progress reports from anyone who installs fuel injection in one of our cars.
Thanks for the discussion. I've been collecting parts and this summer I hope to get my poly to a machine shop and start a stroked but not too radical of a build.
Thanks
