Why are you wanting to do this s my first question? Is the 361 seized? From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> on behalf of Eric Sturgis <ericsturgis@xxxxxxxxx>
Sent: February 9, 2017 9:42 PM To: Chrysler Group Subject: 1962 Newport eng swap Hi guys an gals, I've been away for a while, dealing with life. BUT I've got some thinking I need help with.
-- I got my hands on a 2014 Chrysler 300S, the whole car. It's a total loss...well the body is, but it's only got 12k on the drive train and I am going to put in in my Newport. It's the 3.6L
Pentastar and the 8 speed Auto. I know I will have to keep the computers, gas pedal, brake pedal electronics, shifter and instrument cluster for the drive train to be happy....well mostly happy.
I wondering about the fit in the body. I know the 8 speed is shaped like a 55 gallon drum, but the motor is much smaller than my 361. I know the sub frame is nearly the same dimensions but I'm sure the transmission tunnel will be an issue.
Can anybody direct me to somebody that has done the 3.6 swap to a "C" body? I'd love to put it in my car, but not sure if I can. I've read the troubles somebody is having putting one in a 72 "A" body car, I'm hoping it will be less problems for the
bigger car.
Thoughts? Ideas?
