I believe the line for the back wheels don't go through the block. There is a block on the rear that distributes to both rear wheels.

I would guess that the two circuits are kept separate in the distribution block. Otherwise the dual chamber MC would be pointless, as it would still be one common system.  But it would make the plumbing easier.  So that's probably why they include it.
