The VIN tag is easier to decode for year. But the front grill of a 1966 is different than a 1965. The car in the ad has a 1965 grill. http://i0.wp.com/atxcarpics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/1966-Plymouth-Fury-II-Brochure.jpg is what a 1966 looks like.
