I have a 1965 Dodge Polara 500 with its original 225 slant six. It's a Canadian car, a 2DRHT with bucket seats and console.
My understanding is that in the U.S. this trim level came standard with the 318 V8. So mine is somewhat unique.
I'm getting it running again and discovered that the exhaust manifold is hopelessly cracked. Someone tried to weld it in the past, but it didn't work.
It used to be that I could go to any of several junkyards in the area and easily find a manifold, but things aren't so easy anymore.
Does anyone on the list have a line on a manifold in good condition? I'd like to find one with the exhaust flapper valve working (or fixable).
Anything up to 1970 will work.
My experience is that if you install these manifolds correctly, they don't break. Use of proper washers and correct torque is key.
Thanks for any help. Happy New Year to All!
