Since my 440 RB has aluminum heads (Edelbrock Performer RPM), I run 93 octane pump gas. Ran fine and produced max power at, surprisingly to me, 40 degrees advance. We can get good gas here in Ohio. Some of you guys aren't so fortunate.

Don,
Yes, very expensive if all you need is a “mini-starter” but my reason for purchase is the feature of 360deg. rotation of the starter solenoid to clear my headers/steering box/oil pan; no other starter will give me that flexibility and thus the “ability” to clear the obstructions in my engine bay.
 
There are mini-starters available that do not need a “blanket” or heat insulator because of their internal construction...
 
What fuel do you run in your 10.5 to 1 440 engine?
