It's a  much better approach than what the old Mopar Action magazine did to make an an early '60s Imperial go faster. They kept taking parts off to lighten the weight, in effect parting the car out. The backlash (before  social media days) was fierce: lots of angry "letters to the editor" type stuff. Rightfully so in my 2c.
