--Neal,On all my personal engines and engine builds I always block the heat crossover passage to prevent superheating the plenum which causes cracks over time in cast iron manifolds and can pose the same problem in aluminum intakes. Second reason is to prevent superheating the plenum to increase power – factory designed this for easy startup in cold weather.
