Sounds like your speedometer and/or cable needs a little cleaning
and lubrication.
50 years of wear and tear from internal friction versus a near
instantaneous satellite signal.

Yep the miles should be good as I'm using Garmin. My
speedo must have an internal issue as it bounces around and
doesn't stay steady. Garmin shows about 5% fewer miles than the
speedo.

Rich, hope your road trip continues with much
enjoyment...no issues. You sure your miles are correct?
That mpg doesn't sound right. Brutus is getting better mpg
than that, and I have 3:55 rear gears --28" diameter rear
tires. And a few mpg abuses with spirited accelerations!
Have fun........................... ....MO

Yep you're right and I've been good on the

in the equation now.

Hi Rich,
Crazy idea. Run a two
barrel converter plate on your intake and
get yourself a Holley two barrel. Maybe
just for the long trips. My guess is with
a nice air cleaner no one would even
notice when popping into car shows.
By rules we have to run
an adapter plate / two barrel on the
circle track car and our motors run
strong. Just sayin'

After all these years
I finally got LeRoar ready for the road.
My wife and I traveled up to our old
town of Harrison, NE way up in the NW
corner of NE. It was Sioux County fair
time and they had a parade on Saturday.
We entered LeRoar in the parade and had
a nice time. We drove a total of 1130
miles and averaged 11.3mpg with a per
mile gas cost of 22 cents. It did run
well but obviously I should be able to
get better mpg since it has been tamed
down. I have 3:23 gears, 2000 stall,
SS-X manifold, 264 cam and a 600 Eddy
which is leaned down to about position 5
on the chart. I'm considering trying a
500 Eddy. I do have a stock converter
which only has about 500 miles on it and
I could swap it in. But that sounds
like work! Anybody have any input on
that idea?
In October my wife
and I will drive LeRoar down to
Houston for a Halloween Car Show. That
will be about a 2000 mile trip. It's
good to start driving it more. I'd be
glad to share some pictures but
windows 10 and I don't get along well.
Maybe computers and I don't get along
well !
