back in 1981 right out of high school I bought my first car, 1971 Plymouth Cuda for 1800 bucks. I needed some parts and I called a junkyard ( the first one I called), guy said "Sure, come on out". He directed me to the back row up against a wooden fence under a big tree. There were four- all in a row.Neal Zimmerman, Eugene OregonOn Fri, Aug 5, 2016 at 7:22 AM, <62-65-mail-list-club@ornocar.org > wrote:Neal's comment about overpriced parts cars nowadays led me to think back about some Mopars I saw in junkyards.
The one that comes first to mind was a 1965 Plymouth Fury 2 door that had just been put out in the row at a Pick A Part self serve junkyard near me. That was in the early 1990s. The Fury was complete, rust-free with a perfect interior, a high #3 or even #2 car. I almost cried to see it there. Once in the yard they will not sell the entire car, only parts off it. All I could think then was the car was a one-owner that the person died and the family junked "that old car" just to get rid of it. Sigh. To add insult, back than Pick A Part paid hardly nothing when they bought a car for their yard.
What Mopar do you recall seeing?
Thanks,
Gary H.
