Don't believe the parts store. In 1961 the Valiant and Lancer were the only Chrysler cars with the Bendix brake system, which carried forward in later years and expanded across the whole lineup. Your parts store clerk's computer is likely confused with the older "total contact" brakes used in other 1961 Chrysler Corp. vehicles.
