You know your flex-plate only aligns with your converter one way, in the correct pattern.  If your one hole off it will not align.

So I go out tonight expecting the do the last step before putting the engine in...bolt the converter to the flex plate. Unfortunately I figured out the hard way that a "stock" style flex plate has 3/8 bolt holes for the converter. So I pull the engine & trans back apart and drilled then out to the 7/16 needed for the aftermarket converter. NOTE that there isn't much meat in the plate's outside edge after you do that.

So I out it back in, bolt up the trans, and figure out the holes JUST BARELY don't match up!! AAARRRGGGHHHH! And if I hog them out more, I'll have slop in the plate and it will likely crack. Now I have to try and find one locally tomorrow if there's any chance of putting the motor in the car on Sat morning. Good #&%!NG luck with that!!!

I really hate taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back!!!
