Lyle, I am not a fan of the oversize wheels, but yours looks VERY good. It is probably the rubber band tires that I don't like. Many 15 inch wheels with the largest tires that will clearance looks to big to me. Your combo looks right!........................MO----- Original Message -----From: carverex@xxxxxxxSent: Wednesday, January 28, 2015 6:44 AMSubject: Re: 1964 Sport Fury tire size--Hi JeffYour original question was "how big" .... . This was my exact question with my '63 Sport Fury. I asked around locally a lot and came to the conclusion no one could give me an exact answer, and no one convinced me they knew any more than I did about how to get an answer. So I made measuring fixtures out of aluminum angle and bolted (captured) them on the drum with the lug nuts. I used another piece of aluminum mounted at 90 degrees to recreate various tire widths. I wanted all I could get in the wheel wells with a stock stance.I ended up with 17X7 W 4.00 B/S FR with 235/50R17 's FR!7X8 W 4.00 B/S RR with 255/60R 17 's RR I am not implying this will work for your '64. just adding my 2 cents.I will try to attach pictures.Lyle

Below is the question from new member Jeff.
>>how big of tires/rims can I go on the front and rear?....from the research I've done looks like 15x7 rims front 245/60 tire and a 15x8 rear with a 255/60 tire....has anyone tried this? I know back spacing plays a major role...what has worked for you guys?...Thanks Jeff
