Bill,
I run my filter straight off the block using a Canton Racing billet aluminum filter plate, # 22-575, it flows more than twice the amount of oil to the filter. The only thing with TTI headers is how you change your filter. Loosen and tighten from under the car, twist off and remove through the engine compartment. The filter will not come out through the bottom. I cover the header pipe in plastic then cover the plastic with one of my wife's good towels, you're gonna spill some oil.
I have not tried a right angle adaptor. How often do you change your oil, the effort is no big deal. I put less than 1500 miles on a year and with 8 quarts of oil in the pan it stays clean. Also don't forget with TTI headers you'll be using a mini-starter, and depending on what exhaust pipes you're going to use you may have to raise and support you emergency brake cable.

Do I need to run a right angle adapter? or do I just run a filter straight off the block?
