Yeah, gasoline cleans  but don't light up a smoke! Seriously, we do some things as youngsters that you have to scratch your head about now. LOL

Use a safe solvent then rinse out with hot water and let air dry and / or use a air compressor to blow some air through. Is this the type of oil breather that has steel wool style innards? If so be sure to oil that so it won't rust.
