Re: 18 Poly head flow

Thanks for the chart,  try a 30 degree seat with a 15 degree top cut  knock the sharp edge off  where it meets the chamber. looks like they start to stall out at 400 so this seat will pick up quite a bit.   Have you ever used an offset dowel say 050 to move the valve that much farther from the cylinder to unshroud it.  It should help the flow cone around the valve.  Ar e you polishing the port or leaving it rough?  Leaving it rough is 15 hp.  What are the valve angles?  Seems like these heads might like a lot of duration and need only 500 lift.  Now this is my experience, if 230, and on these small engines it should be, wasn't enough I go to 260 and advance the cam 5 degrees. Any 240 250 duration cam never seemed to really work all around. Overlap becomes an issue but you can spread the lobe separation.  I figure out how much overlap I need then figure out duration I need from there. Closing the intake at 43 (.050) seems to work well This is all my opinion but Ive had pretty good luck so far. Something to think about anyway.
