Thanks to everyone for their input! I actually now have on order both the Bouchillon kit and the cable bracket from Mancini. I am using Edelbrock's heat shield which makes my carb studs awfully close to being too short, but if I use the Bouchillon bracket, that is easily solved with a trip to the hardware store.
I had the original Kickdown arm and carb until now, and the new Edelbrock (with their #1481 adapter) seems slightly taller. I don't believe that arm will work now, it isn't parallel to the manifold any more.
My guess is that the Bouchillon kit will address all issues and the Mancini bracket will go back.
