Another vote for non-detergent 30W which my manual calls for - Valvoline still makes it. I change mine every 5 years - holds 3 qrts - I hang a maintenance placard reminder on the
motor. Bought it new over 30 years ago - hobby use but has painted quite a few cars. 5hp Automan. http://www.valvoline.com/products/consumer-products/motor-oil/non-detergent-sae-30/ From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]
On Behalf Of Ollie I have a 5 hp, 3 piston, air compressor. What type of oil should I use? I would think 30w detergent?
