Not quite sure which one you are talking about.
---IIRC there is a large grommet that seals between the steering colume
and the metal firewall. Wherer the steering shaft comes out of the
steering colume on the bottom end, there is a seal--nylon bearing
that has a flexible center hole for the shaft . The outside goes over the
end of the steering column . This is used to center the shaft in the
colume, while provideing a way for the shaft to flex. Also seals up the
steering colume tube...........................MO

Subject: Steering column seal for a 65
Satellite
First I would like to say how much I enjoy this site and how much
it's helped me. Does anyone know where the round seal goes around the steering
column where the column goes through the firewall? I have found 2 listed.
Mine only had 1. It was the one which sealed the column to the firewall and
had a round hole in it where the round steering shaft went through it The
seal I'm asking about (I've only seen a picture of it) looks like a rubber O
ring. Thanks for your help and I really enjoyed the articles about the 6
cylinder hemi. I never heard about it.
