Bob, Thank you. I read the article from Mopar Action,
And now I understand why my change-over worked as it
does. ...........................MO

the Ehrenberg article is here:

there's my solution, the Borgeson box swap:

Mine is a big block. Go to Buchellin(sp) web site.
They advertise in the Mopar magazines. They have good pictures of the power
steering pumps and the various brackets. I'm not sure which stock
brackets I used--just searched thru my pile of parts. I did have to
order one bracket from them.....................MO

Can you show pictures of the pump and brackets. I tried to
install a newer pump but had trouble with the brackets and the fact I
could not get the pump off the water pump hose to the lower radiator. Is
your car a big block or small bock? Mine is a small block with cast iron
water pump. I can show pictures if necessary. Thank you.

MO,
I think you hit the nail on the head. Rick Ehrenberg did
an article a while back about tailoring pump pressure to your taste using
selective thickness washers. I'm sure the information is floating
about on the web, although Gary probably has the information stashed
someplace on here :)
Buddy Jack Opperman has experimented with this with what I
believe to be positive results... I know he checks in here on occasion -
Jack, any help?

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.. On my 64 Dode
B body with stock power steering.---I got the correct brackets and
installed the later power steering pump. I believe there is a
difference in pressure, and that the steering has more " road feel" And
that it does not have the feeling of to easy to turn the steering
wheel. The return hose on the pump barb is much
smaller than the outlet on the power steering sector. That leads me to
believe the later pump does not put out as much volume as the earlier
one did. My imagination or could it
be?.........................MO
