I did race a guy in High School (circa 1968) with 277 Polyhead & 2speed 
Powerflite trans against his 273 cid Dart....he lost to my Poly.
(Shameless Poly engine plug!)

few componemts yet to get.  Timing chain and pump are the last items left 
before i start the measuring bores amd holes to pick which of the two 273 
blocks will get the build
