Front Suspension bushings

1964 Dodge B body--When I put new bushings in the A arms and control arms and struts, I did it on jackstands. I now hear they should be torqued with the weight of the car on the suspension-tires. I am wondering why? If I loosen everything up, will the bushings re-set themselves in the proper place? and then re torque? Thanks for any in-put............................MO
