Subject: help with 727 trans
I have a 65 Satellite with 440 and a 727. I don't have a NSS on it. I pulled the pan to change trans filter. I don't know what 727 I have. The numbers on the case next to the pan look like they have been doubled stamped. There are only 2 cables--1 is the speedo and the other cable from my shifter(it doesn't go into the trans, it is fastened to a shaft by a cotter key) and a down shift lever. A tech article in Mopar or No Car on 63,64, and 65 Mopar push-button transmission tech tips show a Manual Lever-Console Shift Torqueflight having 2 fingers. Their purpose is to make contact with the NSS in park and neutral. The finger in my trans has 2 small fingers that seem to be pointed and there is a curved area or band about 1/2 inch wide (it's a flat curve.) From the picture I've seen, it is not a 65. Can anyone help me and let me know what trans I might have so I can get the right NSS or do I have to get another valve body? I need help! Thanks.-
