--I've talked to good people there who honestly seemed willing to solve the problem but were unable to get the boss to respond.Every year since the early 2000s I would stop to see the boss (Carlisle, mostly) and ask him for progress and it was always "not quite done". Now his memory seems to be gone. Promises to check into the status, even to the point of having me talk to his tape recorder so that he would not forget produced no results or calls/letters/e-mails. The boss did offer one time that my original bezel were someplace in Florida and I could go there and get them - remember, I am in Ohio and he's in Washington. I did manage to get a set of lenses (no bezels) but I seem to remember that one of the employees took care of that and this was done without the boss being consulted as they were trying to right this wrong.I gave this to them so that all those who needed a good set lenses and bezels for their '65 Belvedere II or Satellite could get them. I've accepted the fact that my good intents to help produce a needed part and my trust have been for naught. I will never get an NOS replacement nor the repoped bezels he offered when I offered my NOS parts for reproduction models.Akron Don Gallimore

If you deal with Rick over on FABO, he makes sure you get what you buy, and quick too. He has an excellent reputation over there. Search for nickname Rick@Laysons on FABO.

Subject: Re: arm rests?I would not buy anything from Layson's. I do not consider him an honorable person based on a past agreement with him that he failed to honor. I ended up without my NOS '65 Satellite taillight and bezel that I supplied as a sample to make the reproductions he now sells.Akron Don Gallimore
