Don, that's been my preference since I cheaped out on three starters
for my '72 Vega. Lifetime warranty to the rescue, my foot!!
Changing out those starters convinced me to buy a NEW one and the
rest of the 140,000 miles I put on the little Kammback were
trouble free! But then I I overheated it ONCE!! and that was the
end of that episode of my automotive adventures.
I wonder if Steer & Gear's rebuild is as thorough as Ehrenberg's
folks. It would be interesting to discuss his article with S &
G.
