Tech not really park does not always pump fluid through the trans.  Neutral does for sure.  That's why they tell you to check tranny fluid in neutral

That's why when you go from park to any gear in a ford there is a long hesitation before movement     

I think 727 trannys do pump fluid in park I'm just not sure to what capacity

and on my 1965 Dodge Dart Convertible 3.7L ,

the settings are always adjusted in Neutral and works fine for me.
