Re: Omaha Mega Mopar Meet

He did a great job capturing the 60's. Totally cool ride. So did trailer it?

George, I know the guy that built that car and have been in his shop during the build. He is a part time builder, but does excellent work. He even did the paint and body work. This project took 2-3 years to do.  His Uncle lives just 20 miles from me and bought the white  64 Fury I had . I don't know the guy that owns the Dodge gasser...........................MO

Rich had told me about that car and when I saw him come in I went to him and shook his hand. Told him it was the coolest car I've seen in a long time. The headers were homemade since no one makes them. Very nice job too.Stripes on the roof reminded me og the "Candymatic" cars. I think he took 1st in his class too. Well deserved!. There was also a original very rare 65 Newport Texas Hiway Patrol car too. 440 and factory 4 speed. That was a sight.

What a great day!  175 cars in attendance with plenty 62-65's.  George Smith was here with his '64 Polara.  I did hand out some invites to our chatrooms.  Hopefully we may get some new recruits.  The '64 Polara solid front axle car was here and I did get pictures.  A red '64 Polara was the winner of the 65 and earlier class with another '64 Fury in 2nd place. Both 383/4spd cars and the red one was fresh out of the shop and this was it's first show.

There were a number of poly powered vehicles including the solid front axle '64 Polara running P600 tri-power, 727 and 3:55 rear. The winner of the best "original" poly engine was a '62 Fury. I didn't catch the "original" part in the description so of course I was out of the running.  I thought it was "best".  Great day though.  Perfect weather, about low 70's, no wind, big swap meet, etc, etc..

I gotta figure out how to do that Picassa so I can send all 187 pics . Until then I'll pick some appropriate ones for now. This batch is some '62-'65 ones.

The first pic is the '62 Fury that won the poly engine award. The '64 Charger prototype car is 3rd. George's Polara is 4th. Etc..
