Re: Martin Dragway Mopars

Hi Mike,

I'll take the to-do to keep the group informed RE: Mopars at Martin.

Here's what I know so far:

1) Apparently it is a traveling gig called Mega Mopar Action Series.  Here's the link:http://www.megamoparaction.com/

2) It will be Sunday, May 18th at Old 131 Dragway (I guess the proper name for it now is US 131 MotorSportsPark): Here's their link: http://www.us131msp.com/

It would be great to meet there or for breakfast or something.  I "conned" the wife into going by promising to take her to the west side of Michigan for a foo-foo tour of St. Joseph on Saturday and a night in a hotel, so I'll will be in dire need of some manly bonding, early Sunday, I promise...

Regarding the name of your car - The Austere Belvedere is cool.  Perhaps the only risk is some hilljack asking you if Austere is near San Antonio LOL.  I always thought Belvedere Disappear would be a cool name for a drag car, but I have a Fury.

BTW, been struggling with a name for the Fury, as well.  Given I have been assigned to the Fiat contract at work, and have been traveling to Italy, I was thinking Bella Veloce which is Itailan for Fast and Beautiful.  What do you think?  Be honest...

Take care,

Jim

I would like to make Martin Show also as I could have a business trip to NW Ohio that month. Please keep in touch. Would love to meet some of the guys from this site.
My 62 won't be ready for the track yet but would love to see who is racing.
Lexan windows hopefully by next week, then 4-6 weeks body work and new paint job.
Still thinking about graphics and name for car as I want it to look like the drag cars of the 62-65 era.
How about "The Austere Belvedere"

Also looking to find 65 Plymouth to clone similar to Drag-On Lady as shown in this issue of Mopar Muscle.
Would prefer one that does not need lots of work or close to finished.

David
