Don...yes you can. Remove the rocker from that lobe
and measure directly on the lifter with no valve spring load. The lifter won't
collapse then.

If it's a hydraulic cam, can you measure the lift, etc., without resting
the dial indicator directly on the cam? My hydraulic lifters (Comp Cam)
bleed down when the motor is shut down.
When
I need to measure the cam installed centerline, I pull the intake then use a Power House cam
checker (or you can try a solid lifter.)

Cory...I think we answered this one for you a
few weeks back, but...you need a dial indicator and a degree wheel to get
any kind of accurate measurements of the cam in the motor without removing
it...otherwise you're just guessing wildly.
