Crossram Intake Plug

Funny, these same plugs were used in rear axle covers when I worked at the dealer (35 years ago), I remember paying a little over $2 each for them.

Glass beading and a coat of protective clear paint works well.  I've also had great luck with a product called Fluid Film - it protects bare parts well.  It has lanolin in it and has a weird odor, but it works great on any bare steel or aluminum.

I'm thinking about making some plugs up in aluminum this winter just for grins... will send pictures along if they turn out well.  Would probably have to use anti-seize to prevent galling.

About the sealing rings... am I the only one who uses o-rings?
