I've got an unsilenced air cleaner on my 300L ragtop. There is a definite difference in sound when the carbs open up. The noise in the front is on par with the noise exiting through the exhaust. Yeeeeehhhhhhaaaaaawwwwwwww!

Is there really much difference in sound compared to a “silenced” snorkel air cleaner?
 
I don’t understand why two positive crankcase sucking to the carb.  Where does the air go into the crankcase?

  I was looking for an unsilenced air cleaner that goes on a 62-66 big block(see pic). And was wondering if anyone knew the diameter of the lid?  I have heard it is the same of some slant six air cleaners?  Also need the pictured clip for my column shift reverse light switch that is broken.  For a 65 belvedere.  Does anyone know where to find one?  Thanks, guys!  Cory
