Hello Members of the 62-65 Mopar Clubhouse
Teresa and I had the pleasure of attending the 6th Annual Halloween Classic Car Show sponsored by the Houston Mopar Connection Club in Houston, TX. It was held at the National Museum of Funeral History. What a location for a Halloween Car Show.
The weather was beautiful as we arrived in our 66 AMC Rambler American. We were soon parked and decorating the American. Vehicles continued to roll in, 180 total attendance, 179 new to me. A nice field of Mopars; more than ½ dozen beautiful 62-65’s; and a 1 of 1, Charger RT Pickup, just to highlight a couple. The rest of the entries covered about every known brand and some unknown, mighty cool “rat rods”. Just a bunch of exciting rides making eye candy enjoyment……
There was plenty to do along with admiring cars; a haunted house, museum tour, costume contest, arts and crafts, vender’s booths and plenty to eat. The BBQ, done by club members was great!
The event had its share of VIP’s in attendance. I spotted Mr. Gary Hamel so I knew his wife would be nearby and she was; working; the “Silent Auction” booth. You may know Gary H. as the Founder and Moderator of our world famous 62-65 Mopar site. He is also quite renown in Houston circles as the Web Administrator for the Houston Mopar Connection Club. I heard during the awards ceremony that some guy named Obama was trying to contact him about fixing/building a web site!! Best thing was I got to chat with him for a few hours !
A great car day in my life…. it’s fun to be with fellow car enthusiasts. A very well organized and run car show. Make plans to attend next year, I am positive you will not be disappointed. The Rambler had a good 1,000 mile run. Link to pictures.
