65 727 Rebuild Tips/Tricks

Looking to rebuild my extra 65 727 for the coronet. I'd like to build
it to handle the upcoming Poly Stroker motor but it's going behind a
basically stock motor in the mean time. I know I'll likely need to get
1 convertor now and another one for the stroker motor. I'm looking for
tips/parts/source info for what I'll need. Likely will replace the
input shaft with a later model one to accept a wider array of torque
convertors. I'd also like to convert it to part throttle kickdown but
am unsure of what is needed to do it.

Called a local trans shop that's been in business since 64 and he
didn't think my trans would hold up to ~450 HP from the upcoming
motor. Also told some of the other things I want to do to it
(kickdown) and he said he's never done that before. Also wants $700
plus parts too...Sounds like he won't be building my trans.

Thoughts?
