Agreed! I'm sure the seller realizes the scarcity of C-body 4 speeds and is trying to cash in on it. I'd do the same, after of course offering it to group members here reasonably first :) As there is a difference in rod lengths, it would be beneficial for the guy to mention which c-body the parts are out of. If you were able to get ALL the correct parts from one car, there would be a definite benefit worth paying for... as in little to no research required. But alas, I've collected my parts slowly over the years... all from different cars, so I'm in the middle of the research part. Since I already have the correct z-bar for a C-body (I paid $60 several years ago on ebay), I am in the process of carefully measuring and creating mechanical drawings of mine to share with anyone wanting to do fab work for their own car.
I think it would be a neat idea for this site to develop a library of information for various sub-assemblies like (but not limited to) 4 speed conversions. A collection of photos of the correct parts, drawings for fabricating parts from scratch, rod lengths, mounting templates, differences between models, and part numbers where applicable. Over time, I think this could become an extremely valuable benefit of being a member here!
I will go as far as to offer to be the "official draftsman" for any said parts. Send the part to me, tell me which model it's from, I'll draw it and send the part back to you. I'm an architect with an engineering background and operate AutoCad in my sleep (quite literally sometimes :). I would of course do this free of charge... if you live in Illinois and want me to design your "dream garage space", that's a different story ;-)
Just an idea... let's see where it goes.
Cheers!

I can't believe he wants $260 for three rusted linkage pieces. What's even more disturbing is that you know damn well there's gonna be some idiot out there who's gonna buy it. What I would do is find someone who's good at fabbing stuff like that and give him the money instead. Luckily I have such a buddy. When I swapped the 440 into my Polara, he fabbed my engine mounts for me. I guestamated he saved me in the neighbourhood of $500 or more.

Dave Casey and any others,
These are not mine. I just came across these on ebay. Torque shaft, clutch fork rod, and pedal to z-bar rod for a C-body (he doesn't specify if it came out of a Dodge or Plymouth... which does affect the pedal to z-bar length). A little pricey, but made of pure "UNobtanium"! Comparing them to my parts, they are certainly close enough to be believable. There's only one picture the seller has posted so it's difficult for me to be 100% certain. Get any additional pictures from the seller and I'd be happy to compare them with mine.
