Dennis So does it leak when you are driving it or just when parked? Does it leak to a point and hold there or leak dry?? Ive caused.. I mean experienced many transmission leaks in my life. Finally joey and I put one together and used all the tricks in the book and a few we came up with in the garage( hehehehehe) then I discovered my dowl pins on the block had drifted in and under power the trans would shift and allow the converter seal to leak but only when it was running . off it didn’t leak at all. We had multiple trannys in the car over a 5-6 year period and we counted more than 50 times of in and out looking for the culprit.. either im one rally determined individual or really ignorant.. no comments please!! Any way finally found the drift pin and …. Drum roll please….. tada!! No more leaks !! that was just my experience jason From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dennis C. Help! I have a 64 SF with a 318 and 727 automatic transmission. The transmission leaks, not just a little but REALLY leaks. I have read posts in the past but didn't save them on what can be done with these to reduce or stop the leaking. I am aware that the torque converter will leak back, increase the level in the transmission and can make matters worse. I also found reference to a pin that can leak that is for the low-reverse servo if I recall correctly. Apparently there is also seal between the torque converter and pump that is important to change. I am looking for any suggestions before I order parts and have it rebuilt although it seems to shift just fine if it is out it would be a great time to freshen it up. It would be a good time to put in a streetable shift kit – any recommendations? I totally gave up driving the car several years ago due to the leaks. It would be great to get the transmission done and start getting it out again.
