Re: Gas quality

I bought a Holley 110 gph pump and have to run a fuel regulator. Really wanted to stay away from electric due to the noise. So you must be running pump gas?

I am in Yuma, Arizona.

I have gone to electric fuel pumps as close to the gas tank as
possible.  I suspect with a 426 you may already have an electric fuel
pump.

On my 383 I have eliminated the mechanical pump.  On my 318 I still
have the mechanical pump installed after the electric pump, I will
remove the mechanical pump soon.

The new fuels seem to boil at a lower temperature resulting in vapor
lock.  Modern cars have eliminated the problem by putting the pump in
the tank.

The danger of pumping through a mechanical pump is if the mechanical
pump fails you can fill the engine with fuel.

Good Luck

Mine just started today and I've been driving a lot.I know there are members that live in Ca. and Az. I'd like to hear from them. Thinking maybe aviation gas would help?Running a 426W,SP intake, and 9.5 comp.  any ideas would be appreciated.
