--This was a big day. Jason, my step-son, helped me and we got the engine and trans removed from LeRoar.The trans was froze up and would not move. We had a tough time getting the driveshaft off but we did succeed.The driveshaft boot was badly ripped. It was fine just about 10 miles ago when I had it out before. This makes me wonder if there isn't an issue with the driveshaft and/or ball & trunion? It appears straight. I will take the B&T apart and inspect it. The input shaft on the trans has some bad gouges on the splines of the larger shaft which is for the drum. It is locked solid but the smaller interior shaft will move. Jason says the interior shaft is for the clutches and the exterior for the drum. So the issue is that the band is stuck holding the drum in place. The debris was consistent with that scenario according to him.The Frank Lupo Engine Dynamics 9.5" 3000 stall converter looked fine. The splines were pristine and the fluid had no debris.This may be a good time to consider switching to a different trans such as the A518 which has overdrive. I hear there is a Canadian maker that has them for the pushbutton trans. That would be perfect if I don't have to hock everything to afford it. I'd need a new driveshaft too but mine may be an issue anyway?
