Re: rare 383?



It appears to be a late '65 install, but definitely NOT into a Dart Charger though.

Me thinks there were 1 or maybe 2 more chargers with 383s in 66 than 180 of them.  I might be wrong!

""Date Code 8-18-1965""   which means it was cast for the '66 model year. He needs to find the assembly date or the series code ("A" is '65, "B" is '66, "C" is '67, and so on) to determine actual model year car installed.

The 65 Chargers all 180 of them came with 273s.  And none with 383s.  The 65 chargers were A body based cars and a big block A body did not appear till 67. 
 
I Don't Want It!  The guy got scammed and is trying to heal his wounds by trying to find another sucker!

By the way, does anyone know what the original seller of this engine was claiming about 180  "rare" 1965 Chargers with 383 engines?
 
"Bought for a 67 charger a few years ago, the person I purchased this from, told me it is a very RARE engine, out of a 1965 Charger, of which less than 180 were made...."
