Well,
Pat Blais just left my house with my transmission in the back of his PT Cruiser. Over all it was in good shape, needs the rear planetary gear set replaced...he said it was common for the old models to fail something about the pins that hold the 3 gears in place are only part way in on my car and the later models have the pin all the way though them so they can't come out. So per his recommendations it's getting converted over to the 21(?) spline instead of the 19 that is has, the TC is getting upgraded as well. Then the clutches (I think) are getting upgraded too. So it will be a transmission that is going to be built out of several different year components to make it a long lasting trans. The cost.....not bad, less than $1200 for all the work. Time start to finish....2-3 days. I guess I better get started on my sub frame and motor.....cool!
