The studs are accessed from the engine bay. Make sure you plug the coolant inlet and outlet from the engine bay side. Take a picture of the temp control cable setup and how the motor connections are made. If it is like my 65 disconnect the vents at the heater, pull it out to get the inlet and outlet through the firewall (tight gaskets make this a little hard) and roll the heater out. It is a bit harder that I described but no more than a couple of hours.
