I tried 275r60x15 on 8" with 4 1/2" backspacing on my '62 and they rubbed the outer edge of the wheelhousing just barely. This is with the factory max wedge 7 leaf springs which do sit the car up a bit. Putting them on 7" wheels cured it by bringing the sidewalls in just a tad at the cost of not looking quite right IMO with that width of tire. Measuring, it appeared there wouldn't be room to the springs to go with 8" and 4 3/4" backspacing but 4 5/8 might work out just right. -- -- -- Please address private email -- email of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
