Re: Thinking of Adding Aftermarket Guages

Tim,

On my 318 Poly engine I run an electric fan so I wanted accurate water temperature. For the temp gauge bung which is the large one I installed it right under the thermostat in the bypass outlet. I now run the the bypass from the intake manifold to the water pump. This year when I install my new heater I will change the 90 degree fitting to a T-fitting which will provide water to the heater and return right to the water pump.

I got my gauges today, upon looking at the water temp sensor I notice it's a lot bigger than the stock.  I went my local hardware & the fitting for the sensor is 1/2" the hole in the manifold is 1/8".  The guy there helped me rig a fitting from 1/8 up to 1/2", Problem is it's rather large approx 3" long.   If anyone has done there's like this could you shoot me a picture or if you remember give me what parts you used?

Thanks!
Tim
