thats correct, throw the rattle cans away, they will lose any shine in a few months. i just sprayed my dash on my 62 dart mack red 3 coats of base coat then the last coat i put clear in the red. I needed to color sand it and cut through a little edge on the side. we have a local paint shop in vancouver washington that will put your paint from my gallon of red in rattle cans, same exact paint but when applied looked ok, but when color sanded turned orange! it just doesn't atomize the same if you care about what you are painting. I wet sanded it 1000, resprayed 3 coats red, 2 more separate clear coats and it is awesome, just my 2 cents.....Russell

Subject: Re: Rattle can paint
I used some appliance paint in the early 90's on an outdoor junction box. It worked good but after a couple years it rusted and I wanted to repaint it. I couldn't get anything to stick on it! Not even the same type of paint.--

I needed a small quantity of some hard paint. In the local hardware
store I found some Epoxy paint pre mixed in a spray can. It is Rust-o-
leum brand , and is called "appliance paint". I got it in black, but
would guess that other appliance colors would be available. It dry's
very shiney and harder than enamel....................MO
