Re: Pertronix

The units are only as good as the the producer of the product. Been wrenching for 25 years...checked every ground and connection...it wasn't the installer. Mine worked flawlessly for 2 years...then it left me stranded on the side of the road 3 times in as many outings. Pertronix gladly replaced the unit and replacement died within 6 months. Many people have great luck with them but I just can't trust their product anymore.

I finally gave up and installed a factory electronic ignition setup.

They are still in business because they sell a quality tried & true product.  The units are only as good as the installer, and Pertronix has no control over that.  I'm sure you know as well as myself, people that can jack up a cast iron ball with a glass hammer!

Please address private email -- email of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. That is, email your parts/car transactions and negotiations, as well as other personal messages, only to the intended recipient. Do not just press "reply" and send your email to everyone using the general '62-'65 Clubhouse public email address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine-tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
