Re: Steering box rebuild.



Once the worm gear is worn in the chuck, there is no "adjusting" the slop out of it. It replace or rebuild.    If you do an adjustment on it you have to have the front wheels in the air and no tension against the chuck.    Again make sure all your front end parts are good. One piece will knock the whole front end out of kilter.

I thought someone posted about a place in Ohio that does rebuilds,   This is for a '62 Newport.   (I tightened the worm gear a bit and it didn't do much.)
