Ignition switch wiring

It appears I have a malfunction in my ignition wiring.  

I replaced the ignition switch but the problem persists.  

The wiring schematic shows TWO wires attached to the "Ignition" terminal of the switch.

One wire to the oil pressure light and the other goes to the coil.

Is this because the oil pressure light should come on while starting the engine?
